At the Asahi Japanese Language and Cultural Center, we offer structured courses to help you reach your language goals. Our programs include preparation for the JLPT, JFT, and NAT, suited for all levels. Whether you’re aiming for proficiency exams, improving conversation, or deepening cultural knowledge, our experienced instructors are here to support you. Join us to build a strong foundation in Japanese and elevate your skills through personalized lessons.

N5 (Basic Level)

  • 800 words, 100 kanji, basic grammar and sentences.
  • Read, listen, and speak simple daily Japanese.
  • 4 months, 2 hours/day (150 hours total).

N4 (Elementary Level)

1,500 words, 300 kanji, expanded grammar.
Read short texts, follow everyday conversations, express familiar ideas.
4 months, 2 hours/day (300 hours total).

N3 (Intermediate Level)

3,750 words, 650 kanji, advanced grammar ( causative, keigo basics).
Read short essays, understand natural-speed speech, express diverse ideas.
4 months , 2 hours/day (450 hours total).

N2 (Upper-Intermediate Level)

  • 6,000 words, 1,000 kanji, advanced grammar and keigo.
  • Read articles/manuals, follow lectures/conversations, express complex ideas.
  • 4 months, 2 hours/day (600 hours total).

N1 (Advanced Level)

10,000+ words, 2,000 kanji, complex grammar and advanced vocabulary.
Read academic/legal texts, understand fast speech, express nuanced ideas.
4 months, 2 hours/day (900 hours total).

JFT

  • Can understand basic Japanese sentences and expressions.
  • Recognizes hiragana, katakana, and around 100 basic kanji.
  • Can understand simple conversations spoken slowly.

JLPT

Understands daily conversation and commonly used expressions.
Knows around 300 kanji and 1,500 vocabulary words.
Can read and understand basic texts with familiar topics.

NAT

Can comprehend everyday written and spoken Japanese.
Understands casual and polite speech in various contexts.
Knows around 650 kanji and 3,000+ vocabulary words.
